SBTHP Honors Veteran's Day

The Santa Barbara Trust for Historic Preservation (SBTHP) is hosting a Veteran’s Day Ceremony on Monday, November 11, 2019 at 11:00AM at El Presidio de Santa Bárbara State Historic Park. This free public event features a ceremony by members of Los Soldados del Real Presidio de Santa Bárbara to honor armed service veterans, their families, and currently serving military members.

Los Soldados Announce Changing of the Guard

On Sunday, October 6, 2019 at Noon Los Soldados del Real Presidio will be holding a Change of Command Ceremony at El Presidio de Santa Bárbara State Historic Park. Outgoing Comandante, Lieutenant David Martinez, will be relieved of his post and Sergeant Matthew Mora will be promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and replace Martinez as the new Comandante of Los Soldados del Real Presidio de Santa Bárbara.

SBTHP Earns Guidestar's Highest Seal of Transparency

The Santa Barbara Trust for Historic Preservation (SBTHP) today earned a 2019 Platinum Seal of Transparency, the highest level of recognition offered by GuideStar, the world’s largest source of nonprofit information. By sharing metrics that highlight progress SBTHP is making toward its mission, the organization is helping donors move beyond simplistic ways of nonprofit evaluation such as overhead ratios.

SBTHP Celebrates the History and Legacy of the Anna S. C. Blake Manual Training School

Celebrate the history and legacy of the Anna S. C. Blake Manual Training School at Casa de la Guerra. SBTHP will have an exhibition on loan from UC Santa Barbara Library available to the public at Casa de la Guerra from March 7 – May 31, 2019.

SBTHP Announces New Additions to Board of Directors

The Santa Barbara Trust for Historic Preservation (SBTHP) is pleased to announce the election of new community leaders to its Board of Directors. At the 56th Annual Meeting and Community Awards Presentation held on January 26, members and friends of SBTHP gathered in the Chapel at El Presidio de Santa Bárbara State Historic Park. The meeting featured a review of the 2018 Annual Report and the election of new Trustees. Members elected John Doordan, Stuart Hauck, James Krautmann, and Tara Wood to join the Board for a three-year term.
